Amadou Kouyate is an acclaimed instructor and ethnomusicologist. With more than 20 years experience with educational programming, Amadou has developed an array of educational programs from the k-12 level workshops and lecture/demonstrations to full university level residencies.
Amadou has been an ensemble director for both the University of Maryland African drum Ensemble, and Montgomery College World Ensemble in past years, and continues to tour as both an artist and a master instructor. He has received the MSAC Master/ Apprentice Award as an instructor, as well as the Jump Street grant as a folk arts instructor.

Amadou is also a private instructor in both the Kora and the djembe orchestra.
